Betsey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Lombard Site Manager who sees clients in our Lombard office and via telehealth.

Do you ever find yourself feeling “less than” or comparing yourself to others? These experiences happen to all of us throughout the lifespan. However, there are times when these thoughts and comparisons can feel so burdensome, that it becomes difficult to keep up with our daily lives. Sometimes, these feelings just happen for no apparent reason and sometimes there are life transitions that are easier to pinpoint, such as pregnancy & loss, mood changes, or traumas. Regardless of your circumstance, I help people understand the meaning of these thoughts while gaining relief from challenges.

In a lot of circumstances, our body holds the tools and resources we need to be able to heal… even before starting therapy! I am here to collaborate with you on discovering (or in some cases, rediscovering) your own abilities to reconnect the body and the brain, to find lasting relief from distress.

I am trained to provide services using a strengths-based and multi-systemic approach. I use evidenced based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Shame Resilience theory, Object Relations theory, Trauma-informed care, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and more.

I am known for throwing in tidbits of humor, compassion, and directness to empower your development of confidence in yourself and competence in your life. I will provide you with a comfortable atmosphere where you can express yourself freely. It is not my role to judge you or make decisions for you. Let’s explore all the perspectives that life has to offer, so that you can make your own educated decisions.
